Sofia Sister Madagascar is one of the five vases that represent the five sisters of the Madagascar Sisters Collection designed by the designer Pepa Reverter for Bosa and presented in 2018at the Salone del Mobile in Milan during Design Week. The five pieces, in different finishes, are painted and finished by hand. The design of this elegant collection comes from the hand of the artist Pepa Reverter, whose intention is to pay homage to the woman of all cultures and of all times. The Sisters collection was designed in Barcelona and this has led to a vocation for cosmopolitan and Mediterranean life. The five sisters are Louise, Frida, Sofia, Helen and Clara, they are imaginative, happy and caring. They like the beauty of fairs and open spaces, in which to transmit light with a head full of harmony and creativity.

The Sisters Collection was born in 2013 in white ceramic; in 2015 the most romantic version of Clara comes out, Sister in Love, with a heart and is available in bright red and satin white with precious metals, in 2018 the Madagascar Collection was presented at the Milan Show. 

PEPA REVERTER

Pepa Reverter graduated in engraving at the School of Applied Arts Llotja, followed by a degree in sculpture at the Faculty of Barcelona of fine arts, and finally a Masters in video and television at the Polytechnic University in Barcelona. His academic preparation ranges from some of the oldest forms of communication to the most modern, a journey bound by the timeless need to make sense of the world through art and stories. He works for Jaume Coscuella and Magí Baleta, engravers of the work of Joan Miró, Jaume Plensa, Xavier Grau and Garcia Sevilla. He worked as a visual artist, illustrator, designer, ceramist, professor, photographer, videographer; He works at TV3, illustrating for the International Herald Tribune, drawing pieces of ceramics for Bosa, design for BD Barcelona and many other roles in between. He frequently collaborates with his partner, the creative director of the power plant, Ramón Ubeda, with whom he created his fantastic shared space in the @ 22 districts of Barcelona. His work is stimulating, it can strike with a distinct social message, with fierce and feminine energy. His “Sisters Collection” of female heads combines elegant shapes, sculptures and delicately rendered finishes that pay tribute to women of all cultures. Her Sisters, women artists and activists are Louise Bourgeois, Frida Kahlo, Helen Frankenthaler and Clara Campoamor, representing many of the key themes of Pepa Reverter’s work. Each piece begins as a sketch, then a painting, before being realized as a vase or as a sculpture, a process that allows you to experiment long and explore the multiple meanings that the “sisters” represent in form and meaning. Pepa Reverter’s creativity has a purpose, the purpose is what motivates his explorations with color and form, creating a mood, invoking a memory or mixing an emotion.

In a corner of the Venetian countryside made almost fairytale by the irregular play of the hills and the path of lively waterways, in a village that takes its name from the noblest and highest mountain peak, Borso Del Grappa, it has been settled for a considerable time Bosa Ceramiche, a ceramic laboratory known all over the world. It is no coincidence that the great tradition of Bassano ceramics, the Venetian spirit of cosmopolitan culture and the pioneering attention to Asolo innovation converge in this area of ​​the Veneto foothills. It was in 1976 that Italo Bosa started its ceramic production following the ancient processing techniques for objects made entirely by hand, enhanced by a rich color palette, decorated with precious metals - gold, platinum, copper - and enamels with exclusive shades created by a company.
