The Hoepli Publishing House was founded in 1870 by Ulrico Hoepli (Tuttwil, Switzerland 1847 - Milan 1935). The publishing activity has developed from the beginning with particular attention to the technical-scientific sector. It currently operates in the field of manuals, school, university and professional publishing, languages and dictionaries, Italian for foreigners, information technology, legal codes and university admission tests.
Among the company's activities, the Grande Libreria Internazionale Hoepli stands out, which is one of the largest bookstores in Italy and Europe. Located in the heart of Milan, it houses over 100,000 books, distributed across a 4-storey exhibition space. The bookshop has over 40 booksellers who are experts in all topics. On July 1, 2005, the Grande Libreria Online saw the light of day, the website that made the books of one of the largest European bookstores accessible to everyone, without geographical limitations. The site specialized in online sales offers users over 500,000 books and the unique possibility of choosing and purchasing at any time and in any place.
