From the creative genius of Denis Santachiara, an eclectic Italian designer, in 1995 Tato was born, a flexible seating or footrest in ecological flexible polyurethane, CFC free, with an internal anatomical rigid structure. There are two lateral slits to keep the elastic fabric in place. The cover is removable and comes in several colors. Tato, together with Tatino, Tatone, Tato Bean, Tato Bonbon and Lunella, is part of the Tato collection designed together with Enrico Baleri, the historical founder of the Baleri Italia company. Design irony and plastic shapes have made these poufs true icons of style, a symbol of Made in Italy quality all over the world. The Tato ottoman is available in different colors and can be used individually or combined with others. Born in Campagnola near Reggio Emilia in 1950, Denis Santachiara started his career as a designer at the Fiat Style Centre in 1966. He makes hi-tech designer objects of great artistic density that he displays in solo and group shows in such prestigious locations as the 1980 Venice Biennale and the Grand Palais in Paris. The numerous exhibitions that he has organized include “La Neomerce” at the Triennale in Milan in 1985 and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. He also curated the “New Persona” display for the 1996/97 Florence Biennale. Santachiara has worked with Baleri Italia since 1995 and he is behind hugely successful ironic and poetic projects such as Mama, Tato and Celine.
