CULTI MILANO was founded in 1988 from the visionary intuition of Alessandro Agrati. At a time when home fragrance was not yet a defined category, Agrati imagined that spaces and objects could have a scent, introducing the idea of surrounding oneself with olfactory quality as well as beauty.
From this insight, CULTI was born: a project suspended between culture and style, where fragrance becomes an essential element of interior living. An eclectic and versatile creative, Alessandro Agrati defies labels. Through his work as a home designer, he naturally approached the world of perfumery, discovering himself as a nose. Collaborating with master perfumers, he developed refined fragrances designed not only to scent spaces, but to accompany everyday gestures and evoke memories through subtle, elegant notes.
The iconic bottle: inspired by the milk bottle
CULTI MILANO is synonymous with the original home diffuser. Its iconic bottle was inspired by a simple object from Agrati’s childhood: the milk bottle delivered every morning to his home. Reinterpreted with essential, slender lines, the bottle becomes a refined design object—discreet yet distinctive—capable of enhancing interiors through its pure form.
Natural diffusion with rattan sticks
The use of rattan sticks (midollino) was born almost by chance, in line with CULTI’s philosophy of simplicity. Left naturally in the fragrance bottle, the sticks revealed themselves as a perfect, fully natural system to diffuse scent evenly and constantly over time. Together with the bottle, they have become iconic elements of CULTI design: elegant, functional, and timeless.
