Trudon

The story of Trudon begins in 1643 in Paris, in Rue St. Honoré. It is the oldest wax factory in the world.
For about 400 years, wax has been produced continuously, bringing a prestigious know-how to what are now considered the most beautiful scented candles on the market. Trudon collaborates with designers and creative directors from various sectors and is always looking for excellence, quality, history and beauty.
The world of Trudon is made up of scented candles, room sprays, diffusers, perfumes for the person and wax busts.

The Wax
The wax formulated for Trudon candles is the result of specific research, the source of its exceptional olfactory and combustion quality.
When used correctly, the Trudon candle does not produce smoke and no trace of wax remains along the walls of the candle holder.

The glass
Each glass of the candle holder is unique and handmade in Vinci in Tuscany.
The shape is inspired by the champagne bucket.

The Wick
The wicks are made of cotton. There are different types distinguished by texture and diameter. The wicks are chosen based on the shape and size of the candle holder, but also based on the combustion and fragrance characteristics of each candle.

The fragrances
Created in collaboration with renowned perfumers, all Trudon fragrances are developed with great care and patience.
From the selection of raw materials, passing through the experiments in the laboratory, up to the final application in the wax.

KNOW-HOW
Cire Trudon candles are produced by the Trudon company in Normandy, using historical know-how inherited from centuries of wax manufacturing.

QUALITY CHECK
The candles are soft and creamy. They burn completely without deposits and smoke (if the wicks are properly maintained).
Various tests are conducted in the laboratory to ensure that each candle has perfect combustion and that the wick is positioned and cut
perfectly in the container; the wax and fragrance are balanced for an excellent result. Further tests are used to understand the power and diffusion of the fragrance.

COMBUSTION
You must always light the candle until the surface appears liquid, before extinguishing it. If the wick moves, it should be gently repositioned while the wax is still warm and soft. If it produces smoke, cut the wick: it must always be clean and no longer than 6 mm.
When the candle is extinguished, the surface must be protected with the Cire Trudon glass lid or with the Cire Trudon bell, in order to prevent dust deposits.
Never leave a candle burning unchecked.
Keep candles out of the reach of children, pets, drafts air and from the curtains.
Do not keep the candle lit for more than 3 continuous hours for the first third of the candle and more than 1-2 for the remainder.
Do not burn the candle all the way; always leave half a centimeter of unfused wax.
Protect the surfaces on which the candles are placed using the Cire Trudon wooden coaster, or a saucer.

LAWRENCE MYNOTT
Maison Trudon asked British painter, illustrator and portraitist Lawrence Mynott to create an original design for each of the fragrances in the line. The work was successful with the best of intentions. Each candle has its own “portrait” that identifies it and makes it even more unique.
Lawrence Mynott is one of the best illustrators, designers and portraitists of his generation. A graduate of the Chelsea School of Art and the Royal College of Art, his client roster includes leading advertising agencies, design groups, newspapers and magazines. He has received both gold and silver awards from D&AD and his work has been exhibited at the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the National Portrait Gallery in London.
A check of pen and ink, stencil, paint, scraper and pencil underlines his versatility in drawing fashion, caricature, figurative subjects and portraiture, but his signature can be recognized above all for his attention to detail, in the innate style, in the elegance and wit to each project.
