Product Description

The Abyss Gloss Vase by Moser is a monumental crystal sculpture inspired by the ocean’s profound depth and light. Designed by Jan Plecháč, the piece captures the full spectrum of the sea—from dark abyssal blues to the luminous tones of the surface.

Crafted in Moser’s historic aquamarine hue—never before used in such a massive form—the vase reveals breathtaking optical effects. The hand-glossed crystal reflects light like sunlight dancing across moving water, creating shifting tonal variations throughout the object.

Abyss features walls of varying thickness, generating multiple valeurs within a single colour. This complex effect was achieved exclusively through precision cutting, without colour underlaying—a remarkable technical challenge for Moser’s master glassmakers and cutters.

The result is a powerful balance between brutalist edges and a fluid, rounded core—weight and lightness suspended in crystal.
