Marco Tamburro, a contemporary Italian artist and painter, was born in Perugia in 1974. After graduating in Architecture and Interior Design from the Art Institute of his hometown, he moved to Milan in 1994 to attend the Set Design program at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts.
In Milan, he became immersed in the local artistic and cultural scene, working as an assistant to established photographers and set designers. These early experiences nurtured his deep passion for visual arts and theater, particularly large-scale painting and visionary scenographic installations.
From the beginning, Marco Tamburro has shown a strong interest in contemporary painting, which he sees as a powerful and versatile form of expression. His work explores the fusion of painting with other artistic disciplines such as theater, photography, interior design, and architecture, creating a rich and multidimensional visual language.
His first exhibitions took place in Milan, where his works appeared in art galleries and alternative urban spaces connected to the fashion and design worlds. This period marked the start of his artistic journey within the Italian contemporary art scene.
Drawn to the energy and artistic heritage of the Eternal City, Marco Tamburro later moved to Rome, where he further developed his passion for theater, collaborated with theater companies, fully devoted himself to painting, and founded a cultural association focused exclusively on visual arts. In 1999, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome.
Today, Marco Tamburro is recognized as a contemporary Italian artist and set designer whose work blends creativity, research, and expressive power—making a significant contribution to the landscape of contemporary art in Italy.
