STUDIO JOB
In 1998 Job Smeets and Nynke Tynagel founded Studio Job, a creative hub based in the Netherlands where tradition and modernity come together to produce one-of-a-kind objects characterized by a strong love for detail, freedom of expression and a blend of 2D and 3D. Whimsical, cartoon-like products have made them pioneers in the contemporary conceptual and sculptural design scene.
This studio was founded in the "Renaissance spirit", in which traditional and modern techniques combine to produce unique objects. The couple started the studio after graduating from the Dutch Design Academy in Eindhoven and in the fifteen years since then they have become pioneers of contemporary design. Studio Job's works can be found in more than forty museums around the world. The designer duo has had dozens of solo shows. Their iconic, heraldic and cartoon-like sculptures are prized by collectors. One of the most influential design teams according to financial times, Studio Job is passionate about building a work that is becoming more and more extravagant and personal in its details.
