The cantilevered chair is suitable for any living space – also because the seating comfort is overwhelming and appealing in every situation.
The current product is a re-edition and has been modified by our masters based on customers’ ideas.
The RH-305 is characterized by a somewhat thinner upholstery surface and a slightly modified and adapted seat height.
Ludwig Mies van der Rohe built one. So did Alvar Aalto. Not to mention Verner Panton. And Mart Stam or Marcel Breuer anyway: the cantilevered chair has fascinated all of the great designers – including Robert Haussmann, who designed the legendary bar in the “Kronenhalle” in Zurich or the “Galleria” shopping passage in Hamburg.
Since 1966, Haussmann and his wife Trix have been Switzerland’s best-known architect and designer couple; as a working group, the two have influenced home decor internationally for several decades.
Haussmann also became active for de Sede – and created an icon of un-rivalled elegance: RH-305, the chair with no hind legs, is impressive for its comprehensive comfort, timeless elegance and excellent materiality – quite simply, a true classic.
